چکیده

Emission of high chrome tanning wastewater is catastrophic for the environment. In this work, effectiveness coir pith charcoal stated removal chromium from tannery wastewater. The yield was 2.4%. prepared characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). efficiency assessed experimenting with various parameters e.g., dose, contact time, and relative pH. content in raw after treatment at filtrate 3439.2 mg/L 14.9 mg/L, individually. batch experiment optimized condition, 75 mL 4 g dose 15 min attained 99.6%. level chloride (Cl-), chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical (BOD) were significantly reduced 65.7%, 93.7%, 95.6%, respectively. use could be an alternative source containing wastewater.

Determination of Chromium in Tannery Effluent and Study of Adsorption of Cr(VI) on Sawdust and Charcoal from Sugarcane Bagasses

Spectrophotometric method using diphenylcarbazide as a colour developing reagent has been used to analyze the chromium content in tannery effluent located in Bara and Parsa districts of Nepal and Sirsiya River which is an ultimate drainage of these waste water streams. The adsorption of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solution onto formaldehyde treated sawdust and charcoal of sugarcane begasse...

Removal of Sulfate from Water and Wastewater by Surfactant- Modified Coir Pith, an Agricultural Solid ‘waste’ by Adsorption Methodology

The surface of coconut coir pith, a lignocellulosic polymer was modified with a cationic surfactant, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide and used as an adsorbent for the removal of sulfate from aqueous solutions. Optimum pH for maximum removal of sulfate was found to be 2.0. Adsorption has been found to be concentration dependent and follows pseudo second order kinetics. Langmuir, Freundlich and...

Studies on Recovery of Chromium Form Tannery Wastewater by 29 Studies on Recovery of Chromium from Tannery Wastewater by Reverse Osmosis

Chromium (Cr) is the most important element used to leather industry is still considered to be the most important industries which pollute the environment by chromium metal. Removal of heavy metals dissolved at low concentrations in water and wastewaters is often a problem that can be solved in different ways. This paper describes a study conducted to determine the recovery of chromium from tan...

Removal of Chromium (VI) in Tannery Wastewater by Bacillus cereus

Bacillus cereus was used to remove Cr(VI) in tannery wastewater containing medium at different initial Cr(VI) concentration, temperature, pH and biomass to get better conditions. At the optimum condition, the Cr(VI) in tannery wastewater was treated by each component of the cells to detect the capacity of the components for the Cr(VI) reduction. Also, the Bacillus cereus was continuous cultured...
